Additional Requirements
Certain events may require additional permits, licenses, or City services. City staff will coordinate most internal requirements on your behalf once your application is submitted.
What the City Will Help Coordinate:
- Food Trucks: City staff will coordinate the required Fire Marshal inspection and Mobile Food Vending Permit with the Planning Department.
- Electrical Power: If your event requires electrical service beyond what is typical, email rentals@seneca.sc.us with details.
- Garbage/Waste Services: If your event requires additional waste receptacles or pickup, City staff will coordinate with Public Works.
What the Applicant Is Responsible For:
- Business/Vendor Licenses: All vendors must obtain a valid City of Seneca Business/Vendor License prior to the event. Contact the Business License Office at (864) 885-2791.
- Retail Food Permit: If food will be sold, a Retail Food Permit is required from the SC Department of Agriculture. Visit agriculture.sc.gov or call (803) 734-2210.
- Hospitality Tax: A 2% hospitality tax applies to the sale of prepared foods and beverages within the City limits. Payment is due by the 20th of each month.
- SC Department of Revenue Alcohol Permit: If alcohol has been approved, the applicant must obtain the required permit. Visit dor.sc.gov or call (803) 898-5000.
