We would like to again notify customers of Seneca Light & Water utility system that there is currently another phone scam being conducted in our service area. The caller tells the customer that they are on the disconnect list and will be disconnected in 30 minutes.
Please be aware that Seneca Light & Water will never demand payment immediately over the phone and we do not tell our customers that we will disconnect their services in 30 minutes. We do have an automated message that tells you if you are in danger of being disconnected, but we never disconnect utility service on the same day you receive that automated notice.
To repeat, we will never demand you make a payment immediately over the phone.
If you have any concerns about someone calling you and demanding payment, hang up immediately and call Seneca Light & Water customer service at 864-885-2723. You may also call the Seneca police department to report this scam.
