The assistant utilities director for Seneca, Dewitt Martin, left last night's city council meeting with an engraved plaque in recognition of 20 years service to the former Oconee Sewer Commission and the modern day Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority. Until recently replaced, Martin served as a Seneca representative to the authority which sets policy for wastewater services in Oconee County. Justyn Gibson, an 8th grader at West Oak Middle School, job shadowed his grandmother Code Enforcement Officer Tina Kirby on Friday, February 25, 2011. He was able to view and participate in some of the duties that his grandmother and other employees do throughout the day. Plus, a lot of the employees had the previlige to meet Justyn.
Justyn's grandfather Detective Ken Kirby also works for the City of Seneca.
