Seneca Employees honored for supporting United Way

In recognition of their continued support, the United Way of Oconee County honored Seneca employees at the annual Campaign Appreciation Luncheon. On March 12, the City and all its employees won the United Way’s Outstanding Campaign Achievement Award this year. In addition, Donna Bradley, the Human Resources Coordinator for the City of Seneca, received the Outstanding Campaign Coordinator of the Year award.

“I appreciate the support from the City and employees with the United Way’s annual fundraising campaign. This year our goal was $14,000 and we raised just over that,” said Bradley. “I must give special thanks to the Seneca Fire Department. The entire department participates as Fair Share Givers, which means they donate one hour’s pay per month to the United Way,” added Bradley.

The United Way of Oconee County recognized Bradley as the Volunteer of the Year in 2002.

“We added this award this year because every year, Donna Bradley is so adamant about giving back to the community and getting people on board. She always goes above and beyond every year, so I felt like I needed to recognize her,” said Allison Smith, Campaign Director for the United Way of Oconee County.

Lt. Lisa Williams, Victim Services and Public Relations Director for the Seneca Police Department accepted the Achievement Award on behalf of the City. In 2010, the United Way of Oconee County named Williams the Volunteer of the Year.

“These awards are prestigious for the City and demonstrate how much Seneca supports and believes in the agencies within the United Way of Oconee County,” said Williams. “Donna Bradley works very hard each year for employee donations. The Achievement Award given to the City is based on the increase in the annual campaign and the generosity of employees to get to that point.”

Both United Way awards are now on display at Seneca City Hall.
