Wounded Warrior Parade Route and Timing

Wounded Warrior Parade Route and Timing

Monday, June 18,
2:40 - 3:50 PM
Downtown Seneca and
Surrounding Areas.

Be sure and take the time to salute our Veterans as their Parade route passes through Seneca.

The 2012 Wounded Warrior event parade will come down North First Street from Miracle Circle toward Highway 130 and the lake at approximately 3: 15 on Monday, June 18, 2012. This is an important salute to our Veterans and, in particular, returning combat Marines from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and the Wounded Warriors division in Greenville, South Carolina. We expect the procession to be nearly 3-4 miles long and will contain over 400 motorcycles, military vehicles, and commercial vehicles carrying our Marine guests.

For the last couple of years, although the turn out has been good on the 123 By Pass and other small towns along the way, downtown Seneca, unfortunately, has had a poor showing. As a downtown businessman and Marine, I volunteered this year to try to get the word out so that we would make a better showing. Would you please try to find time in your busy schedules to be on the parade route this year. Please let some or most of your employees off work just long enough for this purpose and encourage them to invite their families to come downtown. Anything else you can think of to get people downtown for this occasion would not only be greatly appreciated, but would be a worthy effort considering what these returning Veterans have done for us and this country. Let's empty our stores and line First Street and show them what
downtown Seneca is all about.
